Love Is All - Reading at Joslyn Castle

Some evenings stay with you in a way you do not quite expect. My reading at Joslyn Castle was one of them.

Walking into the Carriage House that night, I felt a rush of nerves and excitement all at once. I have always loved the Castle, its history, and the way it seems to hold stories in its walls. Standing there as an author sharing my own work felt incredibly humbling. The chairs filled, familiar faces appeared along with new o
nes, and suddenly the space felt warm and alive.
The reading itself felt like a shared breath. As I opened the book and began to speak, the room quieted in a way that surprised me. It was the kind of stillness that feels respectful and curious at the same time. I could feel the connection building with each page, almost as if we were traveling together through the story. Seeing your reactions, the smiles, the thoughtful nods, and the moments of quiet reflection made me feel both grounded and uplifted.
One of my favorite moments came afterward when several of us lingered to talk. Hearing how Love Is All resonated with you made the whole night feel meaningful in a way I will treasure.

I also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Joslyn Castle. They created a space that felt welcoming and generous, and I am so grateful for the care and kindness they showed throughout the evening. Their support made the event not just possible but special.
As I drove home, a gentle sense of gratitude settled over me. Sharing a story is vulnerable. But seeing Love Is All find its place in conversations, in hearts, and in that beautiful historic place reminded me why I write: to connect, to reflect, and to celebrate the small and quiet moments that shape our lives.
Thank you to everyone who came, listened, laughed, and shared. You made the night un
forgettable, and I carry your kindness forward with me.
